Vancouver Economic Commission’s Project Greenlight
Services:
Marketing Campaign Corporate Communications
My work with the Vancouver Economic Commission spanned editing flagship reports, creating contents for initiatives such as Angels for Climate Solutions and the Cross-Border Investment Guide, and producing articles and blog posts for various programs and events.
Campaign example
Vancouver Economic Commission appointed me as marketing and PR lead for Project Greenlight, a program created to accelerate innovation and position Vancouver as a global technology hub. Since Project Greenlight was a new initiative, we had to develop awareness from the ground-up. My responsibilities included:
Creating a communications plan, social media strategy, and website content starting at baseline;
Writing brand copy for different target audiences;
Writing key messaging documents;
Creating a flatsheet for potential investors, members and tech innovators;
Writing scripts for event presentations and webinars promoting the program and encouraging submissions to member challenges by local and global innovators;
Building and executing paid social media campaigns targeting specific geographic markets;
Writing email templates and information packages;
Leading regular meetings with Project Greenlight members;
Creating and deploying a newsletter; and
Coordinating and writing scripts for promotional videos.
impact
Prior to Vancouver Economic Commission being absorbed into the City of Vancouver, Project Greenlight had five members – FortisBC, City of Vancouver, City of Coquitlam, City of New Westminster, and TransLink – who issued calls for innovation throughout the year. Several projects were “greenlighted” and successfully implemented, including the Zero Waste Innovation Hub, which continues to operate today; and a remote monitoring technology that will support implementation of over 10,000 green infrastructure assets over the next 30 years.
